Electing Our First Committee Members!

The Junior Board has officially welcomed 9 new members to the board as committee members. SDFSC over the age of 13 may now participate in meetings and assist in running events. With even more participation, we can now do even more fun events.

Fun Under the Sun!

Make sure to bring your sunscreen! We had a blast with everyone at the beach clean-up at La Jolla Shores. Not only did we help clean the shoreline and preserve our beaches, but we were also able to build more friendships. Thank you to Elaina, Katy, and Jihane (anyone else?) for helping out with the clean-up!

Getting Creative!

Time to bedazzle some t-shirts with us! We decorated some custom t-shirts with jewels and fabric markers to wear around the rink and at Junior Board events. We are currently selling Junior Board t-shirts and giving them away for prizes. Thank you to Jihane Hoummady for helping organize the event.

Used Skate Sale!

Our Junior Board members helped volunteer at the used skate sale on September 23rd, the event is a yearly fundraiser for SoCal Interclub DEI. We are so proud to continue to volunteer to help in the skating community.

Our Next Spooky Event?

Did anybody say candy? Our next event will be a Halloween scavenger hunt and costume contest. We will meet at the rink and walk over to Westview Park on October 28th. Save the date and make sure to check out our website and Instagram for more information!

Let’s Bring Back the SDFSC Junior Board

We are excited to announce that we have a new Junior Board Advisor, Connie Turner, updated bylaws, and a new election process.   To participate with the Junior Board Committee, you need only be an SDFSC member in good standing who is between the ages of 13 and 18 years as of July 1st.

If you would like to volunteer in a leadership role on the Junior Board Executive Committee, read the bylaws, visit the Elections page and submit a Jr Board Candidate Submission form by April 5th, 2021.

Candidates must be 15 years old by July 1st and include a paragraph on why they would like to participate in a specific role and have their parent’s permission to volunteer. Each candidate can do this for up to three positions.

These will then be forwarded to the SDFSC Nominating Committee and up to three candidates will be selected for each position. The election ballot will be distributed to each member who is between 13 and 18 years of age at the same time as the SDFSC Annual Election.

Before results are ratified, the winners will be checked for being in good standing for the 2021-2022 SDFSC membership year.

We will of course be practicing safe activities under guidance from CDC, CA State, SD County, and SDIA with the hope that as the year goes on, more and more activities will be possible.
